Ive been listening to Viva La Vida from Coldplay out of pure curiosity and I think people should give it more credit, because it is an excellent album, very resemblant to Sigur Ros and sometimes to Radiohead, so it's my album of the week.
Dont judge me

That's my favourite by them too, a great album

I know it's a 2008 release but I just got it, and very pleasantly surprised. I'm not usually a neo-prog guy, but I find myself coming back to this one frequently since I got it.

It doesn't matter that it's a 2008 album, this thread is about what your favourite/most played album of the week is, whether it's a new release or from the seventies is of no importance. I really like that Frost album too, it made my top ten of 2008.

Nothing to be ashamed of there, it is a good album. Takes a few listens to really get into I think.

Two albums have really done it for me this week. They were so nice that I played them twice:
Frank Zappa- The Grand Wazoo: A new purchase. Plenty on wonky quirky moments, but then there were stunningly beautiful moments as well as numerous lovely jazz workouts. A keeper!
Sui Generis- Pequeñas Anécdotas Sobre las Instituciones: One of the first Argentine prog albums I ever bought. Initially, it was a bit too folky for my taste. I liked Charly Garcia's next two projects a bit more. Now I see the greatness of Garcia and Mestre's 1974 album. It's oh-so proggy!!!

I'll join WalterDigsTunes in listing an Argentine album for the week. I've been loving this one more end more each time I listen to it. Great stuff.

Album of the week for me would have to be Obscura - Cosmogenesis. Probably played it more than anything else.

Not so much an album but the new Pain of Salvation DVD, Ending Themes, that has a 2CD live album with it. That ending to Handful of Nothing was unbelievable!

My album last week: Coheed and Cambria 'Good Apollo....Volume 2'.
I read about them here and got all four albums. Listened to them chronologically, but this latest release is a real winner that I'll be listening to a lot in the future. Nice to have been pointed in their direction.

You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

My album of the week this week is currently Insurgentes - after the initial furor that followed its release back in November, it slipped from my playlist. Listening to it again now is like hearing it afresh, it has certainly improved with familiarity and repeated listens.

These have been getting a lot of play this week:
Jazzanova - In Between: Progish, fun jazzy trip-hop type stuff is how I'd describe it.
Mandrill - Mandrill: Awesome funky ethnic fusion, not all that dissimilar to Santana in concept, but sounds very different nonetheless.
Jazz is Dead - Laughing Water: Amazing fusion played by amazing musicians, the collective included T Lavitz from Dixie Dregs and Billy Cobham from Mahavishnu at certain points. None of their recordings have been less than amazing yet.
