I was fortunate enough to see John Wetton in concert last night with the talented kids from Paul Green's School of Rock.  John Wetton was actually in great form and it was so cool watching teens take on the Fripp, Howe and Holdsworth parts in the Crimson, Asia and UK songs.  Very impressive!  Some very interesting Crimson pieces - Fracture, Red, Lament, Exiles, Easy Money; UK pieces - In the Dead of the Night, Rendezvous 6 02; Then some Asia songs... Heat of the Moment, Don't Cry, etc. John sounds great, and the kids were amazing. The opening band at BB Kings was past SOR graduates, they came out and did 21st Century Schizoid Man. Great job!  Ian McDonald was in the audience as well, and he appreciated that opening band.

Discussion with John was about the Yes/Asia tour supposedly planned for this fall.  He says its a go.  Discussion with Ian about the miracle of a 69 Crimson reunion.  He thought that was real funny! LOL

Wetton made a funny remark after the kids played, I believe it was, Larks Tongue in Aspic, Part II.  He turned to the audience and said "I bet thats the first time you've seen that played live by a smiling guitarist".

One of the parents turned to me and asked what that meant... I said "You're not a KC fan, are you"?
