I got a league if anyone is interested. I can tweek it for what categories that you would like for scoring. I have 9 offensive and 12 pitching. I have it set for 10 teams but we can go with 8 or 6. I think with the less amount of teams the more good players each team would have. It is head to head right now.

I'm in.
Here are the stats my keeper league uses:
R, 1B, 2B, 3B, HR, RBI, SB, E, AVG, OBP, W, L, CG, SHO, SV, BB, K, ERA, WHIP, K/9
works out pretty well for us, nice balance
just suggestions though

Thanks. I like it.
I think that there would be more interest if it were a Fantasy Cricket league.

A minor league player died today who had been traded last year for ten maple bats. He overdosed on a number of drugs and people close to him said that the trade had wrecked his self esteem and started him on the track to heavy drugs.

I signed up in the league. Does anyone think we should have more players on each team? When I've done it in the past, there was also like a corner infielder, middle infielder, and more outfielders and pitchers.

i think the standard position spots plus util and bench are enough, thing we need to worry about is getting 5 more PA members to sign up (3 would work but wouldn't be ideal) over the course of this month

Yahoo wont allow a draft with a odd number of teams. 8 would be good...6 at the minimum.

I have only been involved in a fantasy baseball league once about 5 years ago so forgive my naivete, but what is the deal with the playing head to head, etc... The league that I was in just took the stats for the entire year and whoever had the most points won. Does the head to head require a lot more effort, as far as changing lineups on a daily basis and keeping up on which pitchers are pitching each day and stuff like that???/

In a word: Yes. In a head to head matchup you do battle with one opponent over a series of stat categories for a week. If you win 12 categories out of 20 you will have gone 12-6 that week. It is a lot more interesting than a season long points league because there is a weekly challenge.
I'm going to open a new thread to more directly invite people to join the league.

I am having some hope that the Pirates might play well this year and get to .500 . It is too early but they are playing well and showing some life.

ooh, my sides
sorry buddy, having grown up in this current Succos era I can safely tell you they are no where near a .500 team. Be nice to have three winning teams in town but I've learned to live with two . What's sad about the Buccos is that they blame the lack of a salary cap all the time yet have watched the Marlins win two World Series with an even smaller budget. Time will tell if the new guys in charge are smarter than those they replaced but this will not be the year they reach .500, not with that pitching staff.

I gotta have some hope. It's bad enough that I live in Cardinal Nation and have to listen to their announcers spout how great they are going to be this year.

Not to be mean (manofmystery already got that out of the way anyhow), but in my eyes the Pirates haven't really gotten better anywhere.
The Cards, though, could be a solid wild card contender--they ain't topping the Cubs--especially if that man-beast Rick Ankiel continues to hit homers and play plus defense in centerfield.
