to me, thatīs  Acid Queen from the Tommy movie; the film version of that song -  not short version on the soundtrack album.

If you want to talk Tommy, for me it is the Overture.
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

So many good ones, hard to pick only one, but some of my favorites include:

Bowie: Cygnet Committee
Blue Oyster Cult: Blue Oyster Cult
Sabbath: Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
Metallica: And Justice For All
Queen: Prophet's Song

Many more.  But those are the ones that really come to mind at the moment.
I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

Yes, far too many to mention... I am the self-proclaimed Queen of PR LOL (just look at the split in my reviews), and many of the bands in that category are amongst my all-time favourites. Now, off the top of my head, here's some of my picks:

Black Sabbath - Die Young
Rainbow - Stargazer
BOC - Seven Screamin' Dizbusters
Metallica - Disposable Heroes
Iron Maiden - To Tame a Land
Japan - Ghosts
David Bowie - Space Oddity
Led Zeppelin - No Quarter
Kate Bush - Pull Out the Pin
Fairport Convention - Tam Lin

Didn't mention any Deep Purple, since they are in Proto-Prog, just like The Who

I'm small-minded enough- just give me Led Zeppelin's IV and I'm good.

Favorite?  Probably something by Fairport, maybe Crazy Man Michael or Matty Groves or Sloth.
