Trouserpress' Utterly Pointless Prog Quiz

This is about as shameless of a bump as they come, but this was a fun game and I want it back.

Due to the lack of participation I will solve my own puzzle and reopen the floor for other people to make new quizzes.

Which gives the letters "BBOVJRGO." When unscrambled they spell Grovjobb. Back to you Trouserpress or anyone else that wants to give this a go.

This is so much tougher when you're the one guessing!

The penultimate clip REALLY sounds like a rendition of Gong's famous Om riff to me. But that's been covered/appropriated by so many bands that I just wouldn't know where to start. Also, it might not even be the Om riff at all, in which case I now look like an arse.

Go ahead and post it Cap'n! It looks like no one's going to get them. James already sussed the final answer anyway.

For those who care, #9 was Goblin and #10 was Lard Free. I hope you all feel suitably ashamed.

Great work, guys!  It's all correct with the exception of memo's guess for #9. If you notice, James, there aren't 3 T's in Gentle Giant. 

So what we're left with is:

A little basic deduction should mean you already know what letters #9 and 10 ought to be. That should hopefully help you identify them.

#9 is pretty well-known round these parts. #10 are probably a little more obscure, but I'd be very surprised if I'm the only one who's heard of them here. They're listed in the archives, after all.
