Listening to Dream Theater now!
It's scary. They keep climbing higher and higher on my charts.

Was this the debut only, or did you listen to the other albums?

Debut only. I plan on listening to the 2nd at least today, if not the 3rd too.

I don't think it is her... they recorded the album and then brought her in after to do the vocals.
There's also a guest clarinet player.
There's no sax on the album, in fact, just clarinet and bass clarinet.

Clarinet reminds me of:
Jimmy Hastings on Soft Machine's Third.

However, she does play sax for The (ec) Nudes, Pale Nudes and The Tiptons. Plus her solo albums, of course.

My nearest neighbors on last.fm now are Dahlia and James. Actually memowakeman is #4 and Sckxyss is #6 Melissa isn't even in the top 60 anymore....that's odd.

Aha! I knew I wasn't completely crazy. I listened to Pale Nudes yesterday and that was the one with the great sax playing. I conflated the two Denio/Cutler albums I listened to.

Neighbours on last.fm can be accurate most of the time, and then occasionally they just don't make much sense. Dahlia is my nearest.

Awake is amazing.
And it's not even near their best album either.

The (ec) Nudes' version of Axis is even better and more avant-prog. The whole album is even more avant-prog. Pale Nudes is excellent though.

I couldn't imagine limiting most of my taste to just one or a few sub-genres. It would feel too restricting.

Dahlia is also my closest neighbour which is also odd as that Norwegian guy has the best taste ever (besides The Smiths).
Rileydog Jake is my 4th neighbour. He's also stolen Alex' avatar.
