how about Clearlight, the band of French pianist Cyrille Verdeaux? and I saw someone had Christian Boulé on his list, who made 2 solo albums which are both worth listening to, especially "Photo Musick" (4 stars to "Photo Musick" from me, 3.5 to "Non-Fiction") another interesting French band is Catharsis. they tended to make very short albums though which barely crossed the 20 minute mark

As this is an All French Appreciaton Thread, i would like to add apart from some great french prog groups (Clearlight, Wapassou, Ange, Mona Lisa, Atoll, Carpe Diem, Shylock, etc.) some folk rock groups that are really underated.
Dougiezerts already mentioned Malicorne and Ys, but theres are some great albums by bands like La Bamboche, La Chiffonie, Chalibaude, Grattons-labeur, Sourdeline, etc.
