Is there a way that an avatar can only be used by one member.

The avatar becomes an identity for the member and gets a bit confusing when I'm writing a scathing post about Peter's lack of personality, only to find it's Progrocker (Whoever) who is on the recieving end of my rant.

Hmm?

Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy.

Good call, danbo - I've noticed that Emdiar's avatar is very popular amongst newcomers - but no-one else appears to have used mine yet...

Mine has been used several times by people who only made it 1 to 5 posts...and never returned again...
Maybe you noticed that this may be the way to keep your avatar unique...you only have to bump them off  like I seem to do with people STEALING my avatar

Seriously:
In the vein of this "suggestion" I also want to add that it's only very confusing if longtime-members change their avatars...
Mostly I only look at the avatar...if danbo would change his, I would probably think he's new here...at least untill I look at the nick...

To quote Shakespeare; "Aye - there's the rub..." (from which famous play, which character, which act, scene, etc...).

...and I simply refuse to change my nickname to Richard Head, no matter how popular the suggestion...

I reckon if you adopt an LP sleeve (from the review pages) you've much more chance of having a unique avatar. New members will almost always choose from the default ones.

Agree with that Easy Living, I did as you and use the same avatar in 5 forums, being unique in the five.

Nice vase, indeed; outside it is blue and green, and everything once blurred is clear, and maybe it's even cathedral glas, and even through Echolyn you can worship your wife, very nice indeed.

I've been trying for 5 minutes (laughing my ass off!) to get that so-called eye to actually look like... an eye. I can ONLY see it as some kind of protruding nose! How is that an eye??? Have I gone mental since I can't see that?? Arghh!

I'll buy that for a dollar... or £15 in UK currency

What the Hell has happened to our CIVILITY?

This is still one of the most civilised forums I've ever been a member of - I have a link to some saved threads from one forum that'd turn your beer cloudy with the hostilities and insanity stemming from one person, who has become my role model for how NOT to behave on an internet forum.

As you can tell, I learned nothing...

Maybe, instead of getting mad at noobs who come here and start getting abusive, we could just post the link to the civility thread by way of reply and suggest that they have a good read and digest.

Or we could simply tell them to  their   on their  and  their big  down the  with a large bottle of sulphuric acid.

Nah.

That's just not civilised!

Pass the port, old chap!

P. S. I am sooooooo jealous of your DSOTM vase BTW! Nice one!

My wife does some great work. She also made a stained glass circular replica of the DSOTM album cover. I hung it in the window in our bedroom so the sun would shine through and color the room with the rainbow stripes. The chain I hung it with broke and the panel struck my little Fender amp and took a chunk out. Amazingly, the stained glass came through intact, except for the chain.

She does custom work as well. A friend had her make a stained glass 311 (the Band) logo. It came out great. Another guy is going to have her make a Harley logo for his bar.

Thanks, Cert. I'll tell her you liked the vase.
