Nope 'cause I've never heard of Disillusion. LOL

So mine is more amazing.

What typical James logic. Wink

I'm sort of meh on what I've heard from both those bands.

God lord, I had no idea Allan Holdsworth could play that fast.

All on a humble 6-string. Wink

My max is sextuplets at 155bmp, which is 15.5 notes per second, which mind you, is fast, but christ, 20 notes per second is inhuman to say the least.
Allan Holdsworth deliberately doesn't play guitars with more than 6 strings anyway, since he has this belief that he has enough trouble with 6 strings.
His excessively humble attitude can get annoying, christ, he is one of the most technically accomplished musicians alive, and he always down talks himself and says he can't play for sh*t.

Ozrics are amazing. Big smile

Not to mention highly underrated on this site. They deserve more credit and they definitely take close listening to to understand that they really aren't samey often.

Pat. How many Area albums do you have?

And to all of you: what can I expect from Stormy Six?

AMF, Crac!, CRA, Maledetti, and Are(A)zione.

A crude description of Stormy Six is a more RIO and more Italian version of Gentle Giant.

I matched the tracks you're playing with their album page on PA.

Ah, fair enough.  I didn't think the debut was as easily findable, that's why I was asking.

I need both on CD.

Right. I definitely need Stormy Six then.

Maledetti and Are(A)zione - how would you describe them in comparison to the three I've got?

Mind you, the description is crude, and I've only heard them a couple of times, but Gentle Giant was the reference that popped out for me.

Now why did you go and tell me that?  I have a long enough list of albums to get from Wayside as it is... how do I prioritise!

Harrumph!

I downloaded some of their earlier stuff, it's pretty great and very different.  More relaxed and "cool" sounding, a bit amateurish but that adds some charm, sometimes it's more enjoyable than the high energy jams which is what they're more judged upon.  Unfortunately, to acquire the early stuff, you need to either buy the out of print box set (or the original cassettes which are lots of $), or download, I went for the latter.

Maledetti I found to be right up there with the others, I don't think you'll be disappointed at all.

To be honest I need to listen to Are(A)zione a bit more - I've heard it's their best live effort, but it's the only one I've heard so I can't really compare.
