So far this album sounds like the background music to an RPG.

I like it.

But does it get heavier?

But you're still mad.

And what is your role on this album? I don't hear any drums.

There's no metal influence on the debut, actually, which is surprising given the fact that 3 of the members on it are all huge metalheads. LOL

The first two albums are more atmospheric and laid back, though the 2nd one is alot more spooky.

I think with vocals and the concept on the 3rd it'll sound more song-oriented and as a result could contain some more distinctly heavy passages.

You must be still in the first four songs then.

I do most of the keyboard work, actually (when I'm not drumming, that is).

You should, you'll get a lot more exposure that way. Because as it is, I think a bunch of people will say "Oh cool a forum member's CD", not really knowing you very well, and then seeing that they're going to have to download the whole album from an unbearably slow server (22 kb/s, really?), and they don't even know how big it is, they're going to not bother.

Upload it on Megaupload.com, there is no reason at all for it be on whatever random host you are using right now. Then I will even download the whole album.

I already have it on last.fm; I should try getting a few other sites too.
Where? I can't find it.

Yeah, it's really not hard to rapidshare or megaupload it and it saves everyone a lot of trouble. I can't imagine how the other guys had the patience to download it, unless they were getting much faster speed.

There's last.fm and the website; and you all have to do is keep it downloading. You don't even have to be at the computer.

It's the least you can do for a free album. Confused

Rapidshare doesn't allow mass downloading and is more inconvenient. I don't know much about megaupload, but I'm not paying money for it. I'm already losing money on the whole deal as it is (which I'm fine with), but I just don't want to invest any more than I am already.

I keep expecting a Guapo/Opeth type heavy onslaught.

Or even a GYBE!/The Pax Cecilia type onslaught.

I personally like the second half of the album a bit more, but I still wouldn't change a note of anything. Not sure if it's a grower either, since I've heard it so many damn times.

Concept to it is here if you're interested: http://www.freewebs.com/casualtiesofappliedmetaphysics/conceptsinthemusic.htm

If you look at the discography too, it shows the actual composer credits for each song. Doesn't always correspond to everyone who performs on it, obviously, but it shows who had more influence in the musical direction and all that. I concentrate more on my synth work on this album, whereas I utilize my drums more on the second.

Yeah, I might experiment with some metallic sounds with this next album; it could be interesting...

I could so easily do some weird deep/high pitch scary vocals for this. LOL

And you need to sort out the segues on these MP3s.  I'm sure on CD it flows fine but on last.fm it doesn't.  You get a trace of the next track on the end of the previous one.

Yeah, I don't mind uploading it to a free site; it's just that the server is more convenient because there's no maximum download/upload rate. I wanted to make sure that everyone had access to the album.

Feedback is heavily appreciated. Henry, if you still haven't downloaded when you're next here, I can use Sharebee or Rapidshare or something to get it to you and a few others who would prefer not to use the ftp.

I experiment with some creepy vocals more on Ex Anima; it fits pretty well. Big smile

Do you mean like heavy breathing and weird stuff like that?

And I have you know, my fingers are about to leave the keyboard and I'm not dirty, neither a monkey.

Plus my dinner is ready which means I have to leave the album half-way... Ouch

Do you get the "Page Not Found" message?

If so, I need to fix that.

That and alot of backmasked vocals too, yeah.

I hate when that happens. Ouch

But that's okay. I think I'll go check and see what's up with the server.
