Have you heard any Ahleuchatistas, Upsilon Acrux or even Fred Frith?

I like that style of playing.

Yes I'm weird.

Upsilon Acrux are fantastic.

Their influences are pretty much my favourite bands and artists.

I'm not sure of Alex will like them though...

I got really bored one day, and downloaded the backing track to one of their songs, only because the chord progression during 2 minutes of this song is really nice to play solos over, even though I don't like the rest of the songLOL

I couldn't think of anything else to do, and I just one day remembered " 'ang on, one or 2 of those old G 'N' R tunes have  good chord progressions for soloing over".
Fortunately, the backing track eliminates the vocals as wellLOL

Yeah, I never cared much for the vocals in G'n'R.

I would watch it but I'm listening to awesomeness and I'm only halfway through.

The reason you may dislike those two bands?

'cause they're Math Rock and they sound chaotic and all over the place.

I've yet to hear a math rock band I dislike, but I don't love everything that I've heard though.

I heard a Math Rock band I dislike.  They had vocals.

Math Rock with vocals (except Battles who aren't really Math Rock) tends to suck.

I'll try and look up that Math Rock band I dislike.
