Around 1200.
Bookcases work well for me, storage-wise.

CD's are a bu**er to store - they take up a lot of albums-per-inch space, and if you keep them in a pile after running out of rack space they fall and break into little pieces
LP's are easier to store, more albums-per-inch and they stay nicely flopped in their racks. ![Smile Smile](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif)

Also when people see my den they say things like : "Wow! you should open a museum" or "you really know what you`re talking about" when they see multiple pressings of albums I own from various countries with various covers. Last time I checked I had five Hamburger Concertos ! I only buy CDs when I`m forced to, such as the Gentle Giant boxes or new Guru Guru albums. I also laugh at all these idiots on the internet that are trying to get ludicrous prices for LPs that I`ve had for years. There`s a guy who has been trying to sell the same original Green Brain Kanguru album for $79 with the fold out cover since 2004as far as I can tell. I bought mine at place called Cheap Thrills in Montréal in 1977 for a lousy $1.50 Can`t beat vinyl. It has personality. Nostalgia. It sounds better. You can watch it go around. It`s far more interesting. You can fuss over it. Vinyl I LOVE IT

I got tired of having small CD holders everywhere so I built one that I think can hold about 800, which I have about half full. The problem is if I actually put 800 in it, it might collapse from all the weight!

I have something like 350. Not bad considering that when I joined PA it was more like 50, oh the dangers to my wallet that this place has caused.

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

Two more and I'll have 600. The bigger the collection the more it sucks when you don't have time to listen to it.
