I could name a dozen. But it wouldn't make any difference in this forum, since most of them are rare and few people have heard them.

It's more interesting to come up with a more known album that people regard as good.

To me, a horrible album is

Le Orme - Uomo di pezza (or however it is writen)

Oh man, this is precisely the kind of prog I refer to when I say "intentional prog". So cheesy, so intentionaly prog. Yes, with maybe a lot of theme changes and probably a few "complex" passages. But no real passion and absolutely no authenticity in the writing. This music with no soul has to be erradicated.

Prog shouldn't be about having 10 + minutes tracks filled with nothing but selfish musical intentions. This album sucks throughout and I can't believe how so many people think it is good.

Listen to it very carfuly and you'll find long spaces where there is nothing that could make you think the writer was trying to deliver any emotion. All they were playing were repetitive, unisnpiring, and many times, even ridiculous-sounding-tones. Just to make it sound "prog".....When prog is messured by the number of minutes of instrumentals like this, it makes me want to get rid of the word "progressive" for good.

Spock´s Beard - OctaneConfused
The water rushes over all
cities crash in the mighty wave;
the final man is very small,
plunging in for his final bathe

Rick Wakeman -- Rock 'n Roll Prophet is probably the worst prog album ever released.

Some people may not consider it prog, but some do, and it's on the website, so I'm going to mention it: The Final Cut by Pink Floyd. I HATED that album. Some people say that the two albums they did after Roger Waters left were worse. This may be true, but from the songs that I've heard on those two albums, it seems like those albums may not match the suckitude of The Final Cut. Seriously, his vocals on most of the songs are incredibly annoying. Seriously, he sounds like he's hiding in a corner and muttering his lyrics on some songs. It's like they took the absolute worst parts of The Wall and tried to make an album using those negative aspects. The story behind The Final Cut makes this album even worse (I'm sure everyone on here knows the story). I really could not find anything good about this album, and I tried because I listened to it a few times. For those who like this album, I'm sorry I'm being so hard on it, but I really do hate this album. Yeah...

Would you like some Bailey's?

Definetely The Bedlam in Goliath by The Mars Volta. Every time I listen to it to pick out a couple redeeming qualities, I get bored about 5 minutes in. I seriously feel like falling asleep every time I hear it. Sure it's energetic and chaotic, but for some reason or other that album's frenetic pace is just annoying and empty to me.

However, their other albums are just great.

You crazy!

Mine would be a toss up of Samla's Mammas manna's "maltid", Henry Cow's "Western Culture", and Neal Morse's "one".

Maltid just sounds like goofy circus music, with high pitched singing. I cant take it seriously at all, I'd rather listen to Dragonforce.

Western Culture is one of those albums where I guess you have to appreciate the artistic value behind the music... which I dont.

One is one of the sorriest collection of songs I think I've ever heard. Just no originallity, disgustingly sappy lyrics (and I am christian), and just nothing that I havent heard from music made forty years ago.

Really, In The Hot Seat is worse than Love Beach? I haven't listened to Hot Seat. What makes that album worse than Love Beach, because it seems like you actually have to put a lot of effort into your music to make something even worse than the dreaded Love Beach...

Would you like some Bailey's?

When I saw this thread, my first thought was In The Hot Seat.  Terrible.  Simply terrible. On the other hand, the only thing "prog" about the album is the 15 minute re-edit of Pictures.  It's sad that this album will probably be the last musical statement by ELP.  Cry
I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?
