Not so sure about that...

I just don't like punk, and even compared to Green Day (which I also don't like), Nirvana's still not good.

Punk=awful
Nirvana=really awful

Sticking to "regular" prog, keeping zeuhl and avant-prog and all that jazz out of this. It's probably a highly temporary list (although I tried to make a one that will last), but anyway:

1. Van der Graaf Generator
2. Änglagård
3. Trettioåriga kriget
4. Genesis
5. Gentle Giant
6. King Crimson
7. Gnidrolog
8. Around here things start getting less absolute... Yes is here somewhere, as are Kaipa's first three albums, maybe Rush too. And Camel. And Sinkadus. Readers of the list can pick their own "bottom three" from these bands.

Hmmm, my top 10 (not fully in order):-

1. Pink Floyd
2. Yes
3. The Flower Kings
4. Genesis
5. IQ
6. ELP
7. UK
8. Eloy
9. Glass Hammer
10. Spock's Beard

Subject to regular change.  Rush, DT, Quasar, Tangs, PT and FM are presently bubbling just under but next week may be in the lower reaches of the top 10.

1. Frank Zappa and whatever musician he happens to have around him
2. Pink Floyd
3. Jethro Tull
4. King Crimson
5. Strawbs

after ELP it is harder to say, any combination of these bands could fill the last 2 spots:

- Alan Parsons Project
- Gentle Giant
- High Tide
- Atomic Rooster
- Rush
- Moody Blues
- Gryphon
- Procol Harum
- Camel
- Captain Beyond worth an honorable mention
