Haha, nice. It is definitely partially mental. You can usually get by without eating until you are biologically hungry if your mind is occupied. However, seeing or being reminded of food will induce hunger.

That's always good. I probably will be taking a break (comparatively) tomorrow for at least some of the day because I have things to do.... but it's always hard to predict. Sometimes I feel like being online more than others and/or posting more than others. I took a good posting break mainly for the past 2 days, but today I came back as normal.

Yeah.
Well last night and most of the morning/ afternoon of today was my break from PA.

Jody is back the fold, fortunately:) so of course, we at the PMT have some stuff to organize over the next few days, and you may see an increase of new band additions coming from the PMT in the next few weeks hopefully.

Indeed.
The PMT team was a bit bogged down for a while, but now bios are being submitted far more regularly.
If you look around the prog metal genres in the database, you'll already be able to see some of the bios I've worked on and submitted.

I said that I want to review most bands in chronological order.

I'm handing Pink Floyd backwards, and for this very reason:

People give their last two albums (the Gilmour-led ones) low ratings, but then praise the hell out of Wish You Were Here.

I don't get that.  At all.  "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" is almost the same thing as Gilmour-led Pink Floyd.  It's synth background and guitar soloing with some good melody in there somewhere.

I do believe, however, that Animals, Dark Side of the Moon, and The Wall (and perhaps Atom Heart Mother- the jury's still out on that one) are masterpieces of progressive rock.

Animals, perhaps. Dark Side, not so sure... it's a good album, but is it really a masterpiece (particularly of prog?). The Wall... I never saw the appeal of that one. EVER. Dead

I wrote an essay comparing the themes of Dark Side of the Moon to T.S. Eliot's "The Waste Land."  So perhaps I have a deep appreciation for the lyrics (and the chord structure of Wright's "The Great Gig in the Sky" are innovative in its genre).

As for The Wall, I'm surprised you don't think highly of that one, knowing some of your tastes.

As for the Wall, I could never get into that album for some reason. It always struck me as lacking in the music department and relying way too much on lyrics/story; it used to bore the hell out of me. I'll listen to it again soon and review it, I think. It has been over 2 years since I've heard any of the other Floyd albums because I burned out on PF so much, so I need to do that in order to confirm what I remember.

Hm. My thoughts on Floyd:

Wish You Were Here and Dark Side Of The Moon are masterpieces. Both extremely polished, carefully arranged and deeply moving, accompanied by some of the most incredible lyrics in rock. They are both really complete albums, supplemented by their cover art, and by the lyrical ideas.

Animals, Meddle (brought down by the ending to Fearless) and A Saucerful Of Secrets are really good. So's Piper, but I've no idea where to place that yet. Going in the odd pile.

Atom Heart Mother is good; a bit unpredictable, some sections really strong and others not so much. Less keen on the middle songs than the two psychedelic suites.

The Wall varies wildly in quality, has a song or two I really don't like, and is a real lyrics debacle. I can't see the brilliance a lot of people can in that one... one of my controversial masterpiece ratings.

Think that's all I've got from Floyd. Haven't bothered checking the post-Waters albums.

Got to get in the mood to write an essay today.

I think I'll fail with that.

Yeah, sometimes I'm in better moods to write essays than others, but once I'm done with the essay it actually isn't too bad is it gives me a method to vent creativity.

Is the essay due tomorrow?

Oh. Good luck with it!

I never put my essays off until the weekend before for that reason because I don't like feeling pressured to write it if I'm not in the mood; I'm usually an anti-procrastinator... but college has complicated that a bit simply because of how much free time I have now.
