About 600-700, I guess. No idea about their genres, except that there's sound on all of them.

I have 241, nothing compared to some of you guys here.
I also download, but only if I can't find it at Best Buy, Borders, or in most retail stores.

CD's are a bu**er to store - they take up a lot of albums-per-inch space, and if you keep them in a pile after running out of rack space they fall and break into little pieces
LP's are easier to store, more albums-per-inch and they stay nicely flopped in their racks.

You can only see about half of it! I think it can hold about 600CD's. That's still quite alot when you think about it!

I download most of my music off iTunes, although when it's a particularly obscure band i normally order from specific sites off the internet. 99% of the time however, it's iTunes, although I do love the glossy textures of CDs, with the little booklet of photos and lyrics that you just wanna touch your face with... *cough* Yeah CDs are good, but mostly I'm too lazy or skint to buy an entire album from HMV or something.

^ you can do both, actually ... even legally, for example you can use services like Napster or eMusic in addition to buying CDs and vinyls.

I utilize both, own almost 500 CDs now I think, 200 LPs, and then maybe have 500+ albums downloaded.

Probably somewhere around the 250 range. I sold a whole bunch of them a while back. I might as well sell the rest as I only listen to digital now.

I couldn't say. I'm not a collector... collecting means collecting dust IMO. I usually get rid of stuff I don't really listen to, so it's ever-changing. I used to have a lot more than I do now, and I have no idea how many I have currently.
