I remember her being a promising newcomer, I'll have to check that out
(unless you mean that in a bad way, in which case I'll still have to check it out) [edit] - ah, I see! Too bad you already have a woman

Now watching Criminal Minds, and it is ending with a little Bob Dylan.

Area just rules.
That's all I have to say about that.

Hahahaha. Well, define 'n00biness'... I can say that he is very chatty and talkative, and has a lot - A LOT - of hair. [Edited to add... no, of course not - not n00by at all... ]

Western Culture. Better than anything by Area. I'm not n00by online Mike, so how would I be n00by in real-life? Besides, I only had 3 hours, so chatting was required. Once we get to know each other for longer, the chatting will slow down.

Hmmm... I remain to be convinced. Maybe it's a timing thing. If I'd heard Henry Cow before I'd heard a whole bunch of other RIO...

Hmm. Maybe, but really for me the best of Area is on par with Henry Cow. Really one of my favorites at this point.

Henry Cow ARE RIO. Yes there is a whole bunch of other RIO but Henry Cow are like the proper RIO band. The other bands involved were invited to be a part of the movement by the members of Henry Cow. I do prefer Univers Zero though. Strange... my keyboard has gone weird... I think it's Firefox not the keyboard though. I press the @ symbol and get a " instead. Plus I try to type an e with a circumflex accent by using the Alt Gr button and instead it opens the Edit menu. I think I need to reset Firefox.

So how is everyone today? Basking in the afterglow of this country's new glorious leader?

James, you are right, of course... Henry Cow ARE RIO. But... oh... I dunno. I don't know what it is. It just kinda sounds... a bit... uh... dull... to me. But I fully blame my ears and brain, rather than Cutler and Co., for that reaction!! Maybe repeated exposure will help... *hides from Alex anyway*

A lot of Henry Cow is an expansion of Olivier Messiaen's classical work and is by no means boring.
In fact, I tend to prefer the Tim Hodgkinson pieces and Erk Gah is wonderful.
Living in the Heart of the Beast sounds a little like VdGG in many respects and I think of Dagmar Krause as a female Hammill... only not as talented (she only really sings).
They'll click for you, they will.

Oh dear. I simply can't get into "post-" anything. Whatever appeal it holds for others is completely lost on me.

Try Bark Psychosis' Hex or even some God Is An Astronaut. Both aren't quite as dull as the likes of Godspeed. Post Metal is a bit more interesting... not completely though. I like a mix of genres, like what The Pax Cecilia do on Blessed are the Bonds.
