Bonsoir mes amis. Ooh, congrats Pat! I've not been around much lately, so I hadn't noticed your extra star. (Wouldn't it be great if all those stars earned you money off when buying record albums... er, CDs... um, MP3s... oh, you know what I mean!! )

Belated response tot his... It was lovely to meet each of you! It would've been nice to have had more time with James, but public transport ruled the day, unfortunately! It was a good job I went back when I did, otherwise I would definitely have missed the last bus home! Sorry for the non sequiturs in this post, I'm a bit distracted at the moment! All kindsa Personal Life Stuff going on! Anyway... there now follows a pointless anecdote. This afternoon someone at work saw the picture of Vander et al on my noticeboard and asked who it was. (It's that really scary picture where he's wearing a leather coat with enormous lapels, is surrounded by Big Hair-wearing Kobaïan hench-muscle, and is giving the evil eye to whoever looks at the picture... ) "Oh," she said, when I explained, "I'll have to ask my husband about them. He knows everything about music." I'll be quite interested to see whether I am to be reassessed as A Raving Weirdo based on this omniscient musicologist's verdict... And finally... congratulations America.

Hey Melissa, good to see you again. Yes I am PA "middle management" now. Hope the Personal Life stuff is good and not bad. As for "the husband"....who knows, maybe you met the wife of another PAer!

Haha, the Personal Life Stuff falls under the following two headings: "Absolutely Jaw-Droppingly Appallingly Awful" and "Completely Stupefyingly Spine-Meltingly Wonderful"... Best of luck with the Middle Management, I hope you didn't have to make your predecessor redundant!! Hmm, you could be right re. The Husband!

Yeesh, such extremes! Here's hoping you get a day in the near future that's "stunning in its mediocrity"

No, they're all able to stay on - and at the same pay, even!
Hmm, you could be right re. The Husband!

To be honest, I sort of have the same thing with members of my family (the crushingly tragic and the deliriously happy).

Yes, I'll even be explicit:
My sister has fallen in love with a wonderful guy. My grandmother's mind has almost completely failed, she can't walk, and is basically no longer the person we all knew.

Oh, I am sorry to hear about your grandmother. It can't be easy to accept what's happening, but I hope she's being well looked after. Meanwhile, the younger generation has lots to look forward to, which is great.

Thanks for your good wishes. In better news, did I tell you my wife and I are having another boy in March?

Melissa! It's good to see you back here again. Yes, our time together was far too short, it was a little disappointing. Alas though, we did get on together, so that was all good! I am sure there will be further occasions when we'll meet up too. Keep me informed about that Guapo gig too, I really want to go to that! Oh and sorry to hear you're having a mixed time right now. It's good that things are going excellent in one corner though. I haven't listened to any music for a week... what's going on?
