You could do that, so long as you're satisfied with the results.

My philosophy, however, as a fellow composer: I'd never let anyone else decide whether one of my own songs was finished or not. In the end it all comes down to my own satisfaction, and I don't give a sh*t if anyone else ends up liking it or not.

See, that's my feeling.  But the commercial part of me goes, "Hey, you self-producing hot-shot- what's wrong with a little free exposure?"  Smile

I know, I know...I'll go stand in the corner.

Politicians can all burn in hell. This country is doomed if people who truly care about it don't do something about it now.

I'm insulted with the whole "Joe Sixpack" moniker, anyway.

I'm at least a Joe 24-pack.

I don't even live in the states, but I can't wait for this election to be over. The Canadian one was not long ago and to be totally honest, I didn't give a damn. We get more coverage of the American election up here anyways.

PS - hello

Mock elections and media-run "polls" are all meaningless, and I never listen to them.

1. People will not necessarily vote the way they say they do. Racism is such a problem still in this country, more than it ever was, yet now people are refusing to express it as much (which could be worse). There are tons of people who will vote specifically for Obama because he's black and tons who will vote specifically against him because he is black. It shouldn't be about that, it should be about the country and the good of the individual!

2. Demographics are screwy. Even in college where kids have grown up and have found themselves more so, there still is way too much ignorance and you only capture a very small part of the whole population. Additionally, many older people who never use the internet also get let off of online polls, which also heavily screws any sort accuracy in any poll retrieved through any online means.

3. Fact: you can't predict what will happen. This is self-evident. Presidents have broken very unfavorable odds in the polls so many times before, and even recently. When elected both times, for example, Reagan was elected by a huge amount. However, the polls even on election day showed that his opponent was ahead and had the advantage.

Exactly.  Which is why instead of voting, I'm going to sacrifice a goat and get drunk.

Just kidding.  I'll be in line tomorrow since my absentee stuff never came in (*sigh*).

I love how things are so one-sided anymore. Notice how Obama has changed his tax plan from $250,000 to 200,000 to 150,000 and yet not a single word has been said by anyone about it? Confused

It's almost like, to me anyway, that people who aren't white can use any kind of derogatory or insulting term they want, and if anyone feels offended, then it doesn't matter! Turn the tables and it certainly doesn't work that way.

My two cents: Anyone should be allowed to say absolutely anything they want without having to worry about "offending" anyone or any sort of political correctness. f**k that.

Alright. Watch out, PA, I'm on a political rampage today! It's about time some of this gets said. Angry

That's another thing you reminded me of. Absentee ballots and different days for voting.

As to the actual election: those who are crippled, blind, or by any other means disabled in a way such that they won't be able to vote, then offer them an absentee ballot. Other than that, no exceptions! There is just ONE day to vote for a reason, don't mess with that too.

What really gets my goat is primary crap. I live in Kentucky so the people in my state didn't even get to express their say in a Republican candidate because John McCain was already officially chosen over a month before our primaries! Angry

Taxation without representation, anyone?

How come no one ever talks about that? Why not hold all the primaries on the same day? Why is it that all the states with large cities get to vote before anyone else?

Damn right.  I taught school for two years, and many times I punished a kid who was not the same skin color as me, and the moron accused me of racism.

I went to a historically black university, was required to take "African-American Lit 1 AND 2" and wound up taking "African-American philosophy."  (I was the only white person in the class).

All I can tell you is that in one breath, someone would quote Martin Luther King, Jr.  In the next, they'd talk about how we need affirmative action.

And I think, "But that's still judging you by your skin."

It's ridiculous. Our country is in worse shape than it ever has been, and the worst part is that people are getting away with it and many don't even realize it.

And then, whenever I open my mouth about this particular racism aspect, my opinion is completely invalid. Politicans and others don't want us to work together, though that's exactly what they say.

They want us to fight. And it's working.

This is completely true.  Think about it:  If a problem gets solved, then the people who were in charge of finding a solution are out of some work.

Problems are profitable.

The only problem with Huckabee is that I think he never had a chance and he split up our party. If he had gracefully stepped aside earlier on, we could have had a chance with Romney, who actually was leading for a while there before Super Tuesday.

Thompson dropped out early; he seemed alright, but I didn't know as much about him.

Ron Paul has some good ideas; I support those. He's just an idiot. LOL

Romney was the only politician I've really supported.
