Not too big a fan of either, but I usually have a pretty good time when listening to the first few ELP albums.

Hear, hear!Smile

As for the matter at hand, my vote goes to ELP. As uneven as their output may be, they are among the founding fathers of prog as we know it, and in my opinion this should never be forgotten. TD are a very interesting band indeed, but what I have heard (my other half is a big fan of theirs) didn't really rock my world. Electronic music is something I can take in small doses only, I'm afraid.

ELP with no doubt for me!
I don't want to irritate the many TD fans, but in deed I could not imagine they would be so many!Embarrassed
Tangerine Dream is way too atmospheric for me.
Have no fear of perfection - you'll never reach it.

I like both but TD have a much bigger body of great albums, so they get the vote.

Come on all you ELP haters! I know you're out there (and TD fans too).

Poor Micky must torn up inside hahahaha . I went with T dReam mainly because when you have 35 albums or so , ya gotta go wiff da flow ! ELP is great but  I only really get off on Love Beach (in terms of prog terrorism) . Nice avater  BTW MP07 , very cool , almost as sexy as mine   LOL
I never post anything anywhere without doing more than basic research, often in depth.

Sometimes I'm in the mood for atmospheric. Eno would fit into that as well. I don't hate TD. It's good background music for reading.

LOLLOLLOL
Yes, Camel don't stand a chance nowLOL

I guess that since we had all those discussions about LOVE BEACH lately , people came back to their  senses and finally recognised the value and merits of this great album, Tszirmay and I tried to promote very hard with the help of Crimson 87......We were on a crusade, we were , a lot of sweat but now ELP reap the rewards now.LOLLOL....soon 40 votes!!!.....unbelievableShockedLOL

Not a tough choice at all , i can't  deny that   I love both equaly , but for many reasons i'm gonna vote for Tangerine Dream .   (  i had the chance to see both in action , in the Warfield of San Francisco , TD in 1992 , ELP in 1996 . they're both Great on stage .)
