Just busted out the only Magma album that I've ever really been able to get into. Udu Wudu.

I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin. My local symphony that I'm in is playing this tonight!

I've just come back from our local church, where the Kington choral society have just performed Mendelssohn's Elijah... they didn't damage it irreparably...

I can answer that. Great album! Big surprise since I'm not the world's biggest space/psych fan. But very emotional and special mix of space and symphonic qualities. Positively soaring music. I'd recommend Dawn before Ocean any day.

I also prefer Dawn to Ocean...but Silent Cries is my fave... ...very good stretch of albums though...

Sounds like that's my next one! I've got Dawn, Ocean and Planets so far.

Ocean has been good to me but the vocals often feel like a cheesegrater looking for more, though

I know. But they seem to reach bottom at that album. Much better on the other two I have. So far it's 1. Dawn 2. Planets 3. Ocean

Does anyone have Power And The Passion? That's about the only other album I can actually find in stores. Oh, and "Inside". Are those ones worth getting?

the earlier stuff is also good, but is a little more 'hard prog rock' than spacy/ psychedelic... I'd say that The Power & The Passion was the tranistional album...but I enjoyed it very much....
If you enjoyed Planets, you'll also like Colours and Time To Turn...they are very similar..

I don't have Planets, but I wish I did Sounds like I'd be into their earlier stuff. If I get the chance I'll pick those up

Iguess i arrive just in time, Mike!!
I do have Power and the Passion.....and i LOVE it. (this is my favorite Eloy)
On the downside, it seems i am the only one to have it as a favorite
I have also a lot of sentimental reasons to love it...this was the album we played all the time, me and my ex-wife when we were 17
Nevertheless , this is a very good album i will cherish until the end of time ..and the last songs...the bells of Notre Dame is right upthere
Get it, get it with a Bossa nova album as well
