If Planets and Time to Turn belong to the space-rock option also, those + Ocean = vote. Their hard rock was a bit weak in comparison to other hard rock bands, while their later material has not the energy, but just the name of classic Eloy to me.

In 1978 Eloy released their live album, which featured drummer Jurgen Rosenthal and bassist Klaus Peter
Matsoil. This album was probably their best effort ever.it was record of their best early songs, and included Poseiden's Creation and The Sun Song as well as Inside and Mutiny. Jurgen Rosenthal was an original member of Ulrich Roth's band Dawn Road. He was one of the greatest prog drummers of all time.Eloy's early albums were by far their best.....

I think you should split their career into 5 periods:

Early Hard rock (Eloy)
Psychedelic/progressive/Hard rock (Inside, Floating, Power and the Passion?)
Symphonic/Space rock (Dawn, Ocean, Silent Cries and Mighty Echoes, Colours, Planets, Time to Turn?)
80's (Performance, Metromania, Ra...)
90's (The Tides return forever, Ocean 2...)

My favorite is probably symphonic/space rock, closely followed by Psychedelic/Progressive/Hard rock.

can't vote on this, missing early 80s period, my favourite (Colours, Planets. TTT), and Inside is lumped in with Ocean, when they are really distinct phases.

in fact all Eloy albums are great , the three period mentioned above are updated by the band , and no need to tell that i really enjoy all their releases without exception , but still , i have to go with the space rock period  cause it means a lot to me ///////////

The Space period of course. My favorite is Dawn.

Space rock period without a doubt, especially Dawn and Ocean.

In the end the love you take is equal to the love you made...
