I'm no expert on Gentle Giant and am more familiar with John Weathers drumming when he was in Man where he laid down a solid unfussy beat.

I've always been a big fan of Barriemore Barlows playing so I'll go with him.

John Weathers, except when he sings on Giant For A Day (or was it Missing Piece?) - that was a moment that truly made me cry...

Give credit to Weathers for being able to lay down a beat and keep up with the Giants however it was overall a pulse to keep the intricacies going. I often wondered what someone like Bill Bruford would have brought to GG...maybe too busy....anyway Weathers is great but I'll go with Barlow and his astounding work with Tull. That rhythm section with John Glascock on bass worked like a singular unit. Tight as a tiger!

I do love Gentle Giant, but as Barrie Barlowe belonged to my favourite incarnation of my favourite band, I'll have to vote for Barrie.

That Barrimore Barlow solo on conundrum from Bursting Out just kicks. I've always seen them both in the same class. No one can touch what they did with their respective bands Bruford et al.
