Topic: Songs/albums about Ireland Posted: September 10 2008 at 07:49 |
Hi everyone!
I'm searching for songs or albums which talk about Ireland or have just some references to Ireland. Could you help me?
Actually I'm thinking about: Camel - Harbour Of Tears Iona - The Book Of Kells (I saw it in Dublin this summer by the way) Marillion - Easter
Thanks :)

I was just listening to Iona's "Beyond these Shores" this morning. Makes you feel like you're standing on an Irish shoreline.

Really? I'm not familiar with Oldfield lyrics... I'll listen to it, I don't know this album that much...

Iona's music is really beautiful. It makes me think sometimes to Clannad...

It's mostly an instrumental track, only the ending section has vocals. It's a very beautiful piece.

Not prog, but Sean-Nós Nua by Sinead O'Connor is an album of all traditional Irish songs and quite good.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

Primordial's music is strongly rooted in Irish past. It's not really prog, but better than any so called prog metal bands on this site, more than just a back metal band with some melodic, folky passages.
