Phil Collins and Peter Hammill would make and did, an unforgettable concert in '74 in Montreal... Collins with Genesis of course and Hammill as the first part of the show. Wish i was there  :-)

Montréal University on april 21, 1974... Well known concert... Gabriel introduce a good friend... same label too... in french... Hammill too spoke french... played guitar...Solitude, Time For A Change, The Birds, Out Of My Book, Slender Threads and German Overalls... i've seen that photo... can't remember where it's from... but i would not be surprise that came from that show  :-)

That photo is from January '77, Hammill hanging out at the post gig reception celebrating Genesis' concert at the Rainbow Theatre.
 
Montreal '74 is not the first time that Hammill and Collins shared a stage on the same evening. Don't forget, Genesis opened up several times for VdGG in '71 (and even a couple times in '72 including the Paris Olympia concert).
 
I have other photos of Collins and Hammill clowning around backstage together in Los Angeles '79 (for Hammill's sold out solo shows at The Roxy; Alphonso Johnson and Daevid Allen were there as well).
