productive for me is picking up a pen or plugging my mouse into my laptop and practising something so it's quite relative anyway]

It seems too quiet. Shocked

Yeah, productive is relative for me depending on the day. It can mean either getting some material in to finish up a song sketch I've had in mind, or finally doing that bit of cleaning I should be in my room (though I usually keep it tidy anyway), or going outside to play some tennis. I just feel like I need to get away from my computer today and actually do some things, since I've been on it alot the past few days. Tongue

Yeah, I have already told two people in my band about it and I showed my brother (since all he listens to is video game music so I thought I'd give it a shot Tongue), I almost can't explain why I like it as much as I do... but it's pretty uniquely awesome. Thumbs%20Up

My favorite compositions that you gave are probably... Work Song and Pink Bows.

Well, because of school, people working, and other complications... I've wanted to have our debut done sooner, but it's on its way. Two more songs need to be tweaked (out of 13 for our debut total) and then we're all set and I should have the album for free download on our site. I plan to be pretty forward about spreading the news about it though; I hope to somehow/possibly get us added to this site, tell everyone I know on Facebook, etc.

I already have some people interested in hearing it... but I was surprised at some of them... they're probably not expecting what is really going to come in an unconventional package. Tongue

Once the downloads are finally up for this work, I'll be shamelessly advertising it in my signature here, and I'll let you know too if you want to hear it. We've been working a bit on Album 2 off and on this summer too, just some random sketches and ideas. I actually started the project in 2006 as a solo project but quickly got 2 other people to join me in it, so I've been throwing around some ideas for 2 years now conceptually (I already have the concept for Album 2 on my mind).

I have no clue when it will be up... I'm hoping soon... probably September?

Laplace has found a niche market... except Gorillaz Olympic theme uses chiptuneage... however, that could work to your advantage, 'cause if people dig that (like I do), they will dig Zan-zan-zawa-veia. Big%20smile

Yeah, very possibly.

How are you, James?

there are plenty of chiptune makers out there not doing video game soundtracks. I don't listen to them, but I found a journal which says so on last.fm ;P

and yes I'm interested in hearing your band when you feel the music's ready =)

Not bad, not bad at all.

I'm happy enough... I've done nothing constructive all day, yet it's not bothering me too much.

Alright, awesome. I'll be sure to let you know in here, most likely. Big%20smile

As to our sound though... if we were to be added here, I have no clue what category it would go under LOL
Probably either RIO/Avant or Eclectic (since the sound will have quite a change from album to album so far, it seems---our first one is the most synth-driven but I'm moving away the focus from that on the 2nd one because of concepts, etc.).

Yeah, I know what you mean. I've been feeling productive today though; I haven't taken advantage of it yet. After I finish Udu Wudu, I'll probably get off and here and actually do something. I hope. LOL

Do you do cover tunes?

I'd love to hear your take on Johann Strauss's The Blue Danube (but in the style of Acornsoft's Elite's version).

No. Not yet anyway. We've thrown around the idea before but I'm not sure if I'm the most comfortable with it. I may take my composing too seriously (like Vander LOL), because I feel I shouldn't do something that's already been done musically/conceptually. I don't know, I'm still not entirely sure on the idea.

Speaking of Laplace's material, have you heard all of that "album" of his I assume?

I've heard all of them at least 3 times each, a couple of them quite a bit more. Tongue

You should definitely listen to them. Wink
