Dahlia - glad you liked Spirogyra, I saw you were listening to Bells, Boots, and Shambles, that's their best IMO

My name's Dahlia (like the flower).

Cheers, Dahlia. Big%20smile

Oooh, I've never been acquainted with a Dahlia before.  Excellent.

Of course my parents just HAD to give me an odd name...

I don't have any other stuff, but it was pretty good. I abandoned prog folk for a while. I need to get back into it. Though Henry Cow and Univers Zero are worth not listening to some other stuff for a while.

I wish mine had... James is such a dull name!

However, there's plenty of names I wouldn't want either.  There's very few male names I actually like, to be honest.  If I ever have children, I'm going to have trouble thinking a name I like... I guess the wife will ultimately decide and I'll end up with a son called Dane or something. LOL

At least people can pronounce James...
Do you realize how many people call me Delilah?

Is it a soft or a hard A sound?

I mean, is it like Dahl or is it like Dayl?  I've always thought it was the latter.

And Delilah... ewww, not the best name, to be fair.

Dahlia is cool though.

The thing is though, I want to name my sons either:

Aeneas, Amyas or some name I've not thought of yet.

In fact, I'd like to use proper Anglo Saxon names, such as Aethelweard. LOL

I think names from Norse mythology would be fun to name kids. What girl doesn't want to be named Skuld?
It's pronounced like Dahl-yah.

Hmm... Gryphon or UZ sounds good right now. Probably one of those.

I've never heard it pronounced as Dahl-ya before...  I pronounce it like the flowering shrub Azalea.  I'm sure that's how I've heard the flower pronounced on BBC.

Well my ancestry is supposedly more Anglo Saxon than Roman, so Roman Gods (even though Aeneas is a Roman mythology character) are less inspiring to me than Anglo Saxon names.

However, Anglo Saxon names are pretty dire.  I cannot call a son Aethelweard. LOL
