This will be a total bummer if it turns out to be true.  I always look forward to seeing them when they come around and this year was no exception.  The tour is still a month away, they might still be playing it by ear to see how Jon feels.

As yesworld.com has not mentioned anything, and the only thing on any of the websites is from some woman in some far away land I would not worry too much yet.

The gigs dont kick off until July ya know.

I know, you are right. I don't know how bad his asthma is but it is very controlable and by the time July rolls around he should be fine. I'm going through a spell of bad asthma myself now and I know from experience that I will be ok in a few days. Who knows what to think at this point.

I'm with you. I have asthma and I know what it's like, but he must have it bad to cancel.

well, imagine him getting a coughing fit in the midst of a song. impossible! you can't sing under these condtions

Having asthma myself I can tell you that once it has been stabilized and the lungs recover it's fine. It does not take weeks or months but days from my experience to fully recover from a bad asthma attack. I have had a few so I do know what it's like. I'm going through it right now as a matter of fact and I will be fine by the weekend.

What Jon's conditions are I can't say but I do know that in most cases asthma is very treatable and does not leave a person with a coughing problem once the condition of the lungs clear.

Let's hope it is not true, otherwise Chris, Alan and Steve might get the idea of bringing back Trevor HornWink

Anyway, go back to health, Jon
yet you still have time!

My heart skipped several beats when I read the title of this thread! I don't necessarily believe the story, but if the announcement becomes official it will be a particularly sh*tty way to start off my summer vacation (currently have tickets for an August show).

My feeling is.. Something as important as this would have been put on the official Yes site almost immediately.

I just think its a rumour.  I have no idea why people want to spread sad rumours like this, but hey it takes allsorts to make a world eh.

DamnitdamnitdamnitdamnitCry

How depressing... I will probably never get a chance to see them now (I somehow doubt they will try to go on tour again...)

To reiterate: FFFFFFF********************************************************************************KKK! Cry

I am more concerned on the health of Jon Anderson than not being able to see Yes on tour.

Some people seem to be very selfish in their outlook on life.

Here is to a speedy recovery Jon.

Unfortunately the bands we love so much are getting quite old now.   First it was Rick who had to retire due to health reasons, now its looking like Jon.

Jon is approaching 63!  It is about time that they retire from live gigs and just record one last great studio album.

Health is so important in life.  It should take precedence over everything in life.

I don't know that people here are necessarily being selfish, just upset at not being able to see the band.  There are some who have never seen Yes and they worry they might never get to.  I don't think they're pissed off at Jon or anything, just the situation.

I have seen Yes numerous times & cherish those memories. The ONLY concern should be Jon's health.

I wish him well, & do personally believe, that this is the end of Yes' touring.

Let's hope we got the last studio album or perhaps (in the big dream) albums....

However I can't fight the feeling that it is going to be: So long Yes and thanks for all the Fish
yet you still have time!

I'm bummed like everyone else (even more for Jon's sake). But they can possibly still do the anniversary of the first album release in '09.  And given that health issues will still be in the air, maybe they'll scale back and Rick can join them.

I'm not so sure we have seen the last of YES just yet. There is a rumour that they are working on new material for a new album and I think it might make a little more sense to tour the new album in 2009. We can only hope. OK Jon, get better and have a creative 2008, hope to see you in 2009...........Thumbs%20Up
