It's all just rumor, unfortunately.  But they're playing it live, so...

No the album is definitely happening sometime soon, and because they're playing it all the way through live, that suggests that it should come out on the sooner end, so it looks likely for this year.

It's not definite, but late 08 or early 09, I would guess.

is it going to be Live as in front of an audience? or a Live in studio-one take, kind of thing? either way that sounds phenomenal!

From what I've been told, each section of KA was recorded live in the studio but there was some subdequent overdubbing and general polishing up. I would imagine ER will have been recorded the same way - it sounded spectacular in concert.

Isn't Emehntent Re part of a trilogy within the larger story, or something like that?  If so can anyone tell me the other two parts of the trilogy and what albums they can be found on?

It's part of the Kohntarkosz trilogy. Kohntarkosz itself was released on the album of the same name back in 1974, and a number of live versions have also been recorded - probably the best is on Live/Hhai, with Didier Lockwood on Violin.

The brilliant K.A., released 3 or 4 years ago, is a kind of prequel to Kohntarkosz. I'm still not 100% sure about where ER fits in - probably as the final part of the trilogy, but it's difficult to be sure with Christian Vander; the Theusz Hamtaahk trilogy appeared in an equally perverse order and TH itself has never been released as a studio album - the closest is the excellent version on BBC Londres 1974.

I heard a live version of ER at last year's RIO festival and it's a stunning piece of work that seems to incorporate some themes from the shorter pieces on Attahk. We will just have to wait and see.

Aaron meant that they are currently playing it live, not that they necessarily will be releasing a live take of it.  I've seen the piece in concert and it's positively spectacular.  It incorporates Hhai! from Magma Live/Kohntark/Hhai Live/whatever and Zombies from Udu Wudu, among other themes.

PM me if you want to hear a live version of it (this is not exclusive to mithrandir)
