So, I was bored today, and instead of sitting around here like a fat mess refreshing on Active Topics, I decided to hop on my (old man) bike and cruise around the outskirts of my area. Many pictures to follow.
Here's the fields, with downtown Vancouver and the mountains in the distance.
Such a lovely road, too; I only wish there was less vehicle traffic.
Attention ladies - I'm single.
Some birds I caught flying overhead; the rabbits and ducks all ran away from me.
There's water out there, it's just at low tide. It's one of my favorite places just to come and think.
While peddling around on the dike, I had Khan's 'Driving To Amsterdam' playing on my headphones. Seemed appropriate enough.
See? I TOLD you there was water.
So, there's mountains, fields and ocean. What DOESN'T Coastal BC have?
Russia.

How far away do you live from the Vancouver CBD? Judging from that field picture, I'll haunt a guess that the field is about 25-30km away.

I think that's about right; it's around a half hour drive from the suburbs where I live.

I based that around the Melbourne city skyline looking bigger (compared to how it does for you) from where I live, and it's about 18-19km to the CBD from where I live. I might as well get off my lazy butt and snap some suburban Melbourne pics one day too, probably later this week if I get my bike (yes, I'm 19 and still don't drive, sad isn't it).

Thanks for the great pics, Chameleon!
I took my first real bikeride of the year this friday. I had the wind right in my face for 3km, though. I didn't feel too good after that...
