I got it for Christmas. Slightly gutted that you can get it for half price now. I'm still reading through it but there's some interesting stuff there. I can't remember who it was who said Daryl Steurmer is a much better guitarist than Steve Hackett (it may have been Banks).

On my "to buy and read" list.

Honestly - pretty good! I was on a major Genesis kick for little while about 2 months back (still am but just not as constant...more VDGG lately) and I saw this at Barnes and Noble. I didnt have the cash at the time but a few days later returned there and immediately bought it. On the front it has 5 names - the classic lineup, that alone describes that this is not an attempt to breeze over the Gabriel years and talk about the Collins pop in depth, although it certainly has good information on the pop years too.
It has very good early "Ant" pictures and information and really was a good read, but also something you can just pick up and breeze over because its made up entirely of band member statements and beautiful pictures.
Really really good, and it was worth the 30 dollars I paid for it!

So slip on some "Selling England"

Haha, endlessepic, I got the book while I was on my Genesis binge and now I'm on a VDGG binge as well.

The book is great. I learned a lot from it and there are tons of pictures. What was really nice about the book is that it's made entirely of interviews. So there isn't any narration by an author, it's "written" by the members of Genesis.

Enjoy the format of being a virtual long, unending interview with everyone ever associated with Genesis.  Beats the Gallo book (1980) hands down now...

It is a fantastic book. I got it for christmas and spent hours at a time reading it while listening to Genesis albums.
Alot of the things I'd always wondered about Genesis are answered in the book. It's well worth buying if you're a fan.

I've been reading it, I'm up to the chapter on A trick of the Tail and I've enjoyed it so far. It has some great pictures and insider information in it.
