'Free Bobby BeauSoleil' shirts now available!

All proceeds from these authorized limited edition shirts will go directly to Robert K. BeauSoleil. This is not some 'Charlie Don't Surf' serial killer worship. We believe Bobby BeauSoleil is an artistic and spiritual comrade who has re-paid his debt to society and should be released from prison to enjoy his elder years under the sun. We also realize that this is unlikely to happen due to his tragic crime and unfortunate brief association with Charles Manson. Nonetheless, all proceeds from these shirts will go directly to his prison account for art supplies, vegetarian food, and phone calls to friends and family. Shirts are black and pro-printed with discharge ink that is fade proof and much more comfortable than commercial plastisol ink. SPECIFY SIZE WITH ORDER! For more information about Bobby visit his website here.

$15 + $5 shipping ($20)

paypal: [email protected]
or send money order or well-hidden cash to:

Sean McGrath
PO Box 16071

Again, remember to specify your size and address with the order!

Nice guy Bobby was.

From wikipedia:

The Hinman murder

The version, as described in the book Helter Skelter, is that Hinman was killed for money and property that Manson claimed Hinman owed the Family. Accompanying Beausoleil that night were Susan Atkins and Mary Brunner, both later involved in other murders. Beausoleil claims that Hinman supplied him with a batch of bad (or weak) mescaline which Beausoleil in turn sold to the Straight Satans motorcycle gang. When the bikers demanded their money back, Beausoleil went to Hinman, who refused to pay. While Beausoleil, Atkins and Brunner held him captive in his own home in an attempt to convince him to refund the money, things went from bad to worse when Manson (whom Beausoleil had phoned) showed up and sliced Hinman's face and ear with a long knife or bayonet. It ended with Beausoleil stabbing Hinman to death the next day. Afterwards, he wrote "Political piggy" on a wall in Hinman's blood. On August 6, 1969, Beausoleil was arrested while driving one of Hinman's vehicles.

At Beausoleil's two trials for the murder, the defense mentioned nothing about the murder being the result of a drug burn. Beausoleil's first revelation of this came in 1981, 12 years after the murders, in an interview published in Oui magazine. [1] In that interview, he denied that Manson had come to the Hinman residence during the event that led to Hinman's murder, although he now states that this did happen. Also, conspirator Susan Atkins has stated that she never heard any mention by Beausoleil indicating that the reason they went to Hinman's residence had anything to do with a drug burn [2] See Helter Skelter (Manson scenario) for more details on the murders perpetrated by Charles Manson and members of his Family.

No problem facing reality, Tony, but in terms of music, his one-off project (before he did crime and time) is simply amazing! Shocked

Actually that "Lucifer Rising" soundtrack was recorded in prison on homemade gear. Beausoleil doesn't make any excuses for what he did, but it's been 40 years. He's a model prisoner and not a threat to society. Enough is enough.

Er, your qualifications please as to your expertise in being able to determine the validity of your last sentence vs the U.S. legal system's seeming disagreement.

The only reason he's still in prison is the Manson connection. There are people who have done the same thing (killed someone during a drug deal gone bad) who didn't have to spend 40 years in prison. The Manson mythos is what is keeping him in prison; a mythology that we've built into something much bigger than the facts support.
