Here's a hyperlink to the 2005 one: CLICK Porcupine Tree's Deadwing won. EDIT: Chamberry got in faster (too slow I'm having difficulty typing as I'm carrying a baby on one arm). At least I got the link (using a 2005 search query). Edited by Logan - April 09 2007 at 14:40 |

Smashing, thank you!
I honestly tried to find it by making a search myself, but I never found the answer. I suppose I'll have to learn how to search in this forum!

No problem, this search engine could do with some improvement. And the "search in body" function has been disabled which makes it harder to find... contraband! Search in body, that presents a nasty image (unless you're really into, for instance, forensics). Truth be told, it took me a few failed attempts before I got lucky (I've spent way too much time searching for half-remembered posts by half-remembered people at this site).

I can't help but think 2005's results were better.... Any one of those albums (I'm sure even VDGG) would've been a good winner.... Though I don't know why they made just a top-5...
Next year the poll should be even broader... Let's include forum members too!!!!

Its not that it's better than this year, its just that last year's list was more "ear friendly" than this year. |

My choice now would be Yugen's Labirinto d'Acqua (with ZePTO and Zaar close on the heels). Maybe if I had October Equus things would be different.
I can't believe how much the rating have dropped for the following because of Sean Trane's review (that was the top-rated Avant Prog album of 2006 for a long time):

My top 2006 album would be Zaar as well, Logan.

I disagree Ruben. Kayo Dot was not very friendly to my ears. |

Wow, i really didn't expect TMV - Amputechture to be up there! Still, the album does have two of the best songs ever on it (Tetragrammaton and Day of the Baphomets), so they outway the mediocre efforts on the album.
