Oddly enough, I would say that only about 30 to 40 precrent of my music is prog (That includes not only the amount of prog bands I own, but also each subsequent release and/or version of that release, including my Tool vinyls.), but in terms of what I'm listening to most of the time these days, it is 100% prog! I have my CD traveling case full of nothing but prog acts, pro and indie, past and current. So yeah, I'm sure the prog side of my music collection will continue to grow and grow. :)

Somewhere around 30%, the remainder being an even split between classic and modern rock.  How disappointingly balanced.

I'd say about 50% of my collection is prog and the other 40% is made up of mostly jazz with some blues and folk thrown in and just a couple of classical and pop disk here and there.

At a guess, around 30-40%. It depends on what one's definition of "Prog" is, though.

I own a 3500 albums and 2500 prerecorded cds.  I have all kinds of different music in my collection from classical to world music.  My prog and jazz cds are included more in my playlist.

I'd say 40% of our collection is prog, with the rest made up of various electronica, jazz, classical, hard/heavy rock etc; currently on a big prog listening jag though

About 50 procent is pure prog, about 25 is related to prog (Queen, The Who, Deep Purple, Beatles etc.) and 25 is not that much prog-related (Dylan, Springsteen, Clash).

But I've got less prog records then non-progs, it's just hard to get CD's with prog.

(Edit: I listen to friends records Approve )

Been listening quite a bit to King Crimson, Henry Cow and Univers Zéro lately, so it's probably up at 30 % right now. Before that it was somewhere around 10.

It would depend on what you would call "Prog"? There are many genres that I see have no connection to "Prog", so I do not include them (though many uninformed would.) So in reality (and correctly) I have about 10 - 15 % as actual "Prog" and the rest is not.

Around 30% I guess but then if I included Fusion and Prog related, Zeppelin for example then that would push it up quite a lot.

Maybe you don't listen to any these days, i listen every day something from my collection, that's why i have the collection. And it realy sound strange dude, why do you have the collection???????

I'll answer that one for Jean: The collection accumulated over the years; we both already had a rather big one when we met. There were some duplicates in it after they were merged, but it still was big. However, as we grew older we started preferring listening to the radio; WDR 3 is an excellent channel. We still listen to the odd album from our collection from time to time, and there are some artists we still buy all new albums from. But nevertheless it is the radio for us most of the time. And of course the music we play ourselves.
It is like having a big library. Why does one not throw away a book after having read it? Because books are like old friends; you can return to them whenever you want. It is the same with albums.
