This reminds me also of In Absentia, which is has a major theme throughout most of the album, although it's not a narrative concept like the title of this thread.  Both FoaBP and IA are great albums.

I have Blackwater Park as well. I am not a big fan of Death Metal, so, Opeth is taking me a bit to get into, but, I will definitely get Ghost Reveries.

Haha ya don't worry about it, it's no big deal.

But I would highly recommend Ghost Reveries if you haven't heard it, that and Blackwater Park are among the few albums I consider true masterpieces (in metal).

OPETH has a few, Still Life and Ghost Reveries (minus the last track), of which I'd highly recommend Ghost Reveries.

Also SYMPHONY X's V: The New Mythology Suite is built around it's own theme, which works out well for a Symphonic Power-Progressive band.

Aina - Days of Rising Doom: The Metal Opera.  Frameshift - Unweaving the Rainbow (with James LaBrie on vocals).  Shadow Gallery.  Queensryche - Operation: Mindcrime 1 and possibly 2 (I like part 2, most don't).

I believe Alternative 4, Judgement and A Fine Day to Exit were concepts

All by the band Anathema, very depressing and emotional metal...don't expect over the top instrumentation, just very touching passages. Great stuff.
