The way Jimmy interrupt's the vocals to start his solo is wonderful and very very amazing

always, always always love to hear this song, cause the section when only are drums and keys ans Lifeson starts doing something wonderful and beautiful with its guitar is so relaxing, and then going up, and faster, simply amazing

also fly by night solo

I dunno, I've heard too much solos to pick only one jaja

Yes great choices - to me Shine on you Crazy Diamond was Floyd's best. It aslo illustrates that sheer speed doesn't necessarily win the day.

Perhaps not really a solo, perhaps not my favourite, but the guitar solo on Focus' Birth is amazing.

Well dug out, although personally I think that the closing solo on Early Birth is even better. Fantastic end to a fantastic album.

I love Confortably Numb solo
The small keyboard vs. guitar battle in the Speed King by Deep Purple
solo from Balck sabbath´s Past Lives - Wicked World is also one of the greatest
but Led Zeppelin´s BBC Sessions disc2 contains the 18min. version of Dazed and Confused, dear people there is 6min. absolutely psycho solo when both Page and Jones play by fiddlesticks on their guitars and than comes the 10min. solo of whole band unbelievable improvisation by Page, impassable bass solo of Jones, Bonham´s jazz jamming on the drums and also Plant´s contribution of voice...The best jamming song ever it is...

Right now, I'd say Hackett's guitar solo on Firth of Fifth (a masterpiece) and Emerson's Hoedown for keyboards, but I've got so many others in mind... these days I'm listening mainly to those two solos.
