Samla too! I've only heard the (excellent) Matid, but I'm hoping to get Klossa Knapitatet for Christmas. |
Yeah, Samla are awesome. Check out Family Cracks as well (under the ZMM name) their most avant album. Klossa is actually better than Måltid, in my opinion, only that there is less vocals.

I thought I was the only one who thought that!

Ok I'm going to start with Art Zoyd, they've been at the top of my list for a while, but all I can find is their later electronic stuff. Where can I find their earlier albums?

Their earlier albums are really hard to find, unfortunately. Unless you are really lucky of course. I can give you some PM recommendations however

I'm gonna have to go with prog metal.
It was hard, symphonic was a good place to start, but this whole post metal thing has really gotten me now.

Zeuhl is by far the best music ever made. Anyone who denies this shall suffer eternally at the hands of Kreuhn Kohrmahnn unless they begin the rituals of self-purification as described by Nebehr Gudahtt.

Exactly what kind of punishment will I endure at his (or is it her) hands? Will I just have to listen to Kreuhn filibuster about the virtues of fake languages, specifically Kobaian, forever? Or will he force-feed me Zeuhl-themed slide-shows with my eyes held open a la "Clockwork Orange"?

Honestly, I like them all. However, if I was forced at gun point to decide, the results would be, Symphonic, Metal, Space and Italian.

I voted for symphonic although I have been listening to increasing amounts of heavy and metal recently. Had there been a category for folk prog, I might have have voted for that.

Obviously there are many genres of prog, but i just wanted to see what was favoured out of the ones given
of course many people probably favour other types

from these choices my favorite is Prog Metal since it is more versatile than the others. Interestingly it includes Symphonic Prog Metal, Space/Psychedelic Prog Metal and even Italian Prog Metal (Rhapsody, DGM, ... ).

I voted for Prog Metal, although I probably could have just as easily voted for Symphonic.
