From the bottom of my heart, I wish you the best, and I hope you'll find a way to be together without having to go through what Micky and I are. I just hope those people who make the rules and play with other people's lives will one day get to realise that life is short, and that one should be free to follow their heart.

Thanks Raf! I'm hopeful that we will find a way to be together as well, and of course, I'm rooting for you and Micky too. I hope you two can be together sooner rather than later. I couldn't agree with you more about those who make the rules. I never realized the hardship that the current immigration laws can cause for two people in love, simply because they happen to be from different parts of the world. But now I know it all too well.

Too late.
Europe is safe once again, for I have returned to the US.
However, I will be returning to Poland in 4 weeks to spend Christmas and New Years with my sweetie. And we are talking about the possibility of me staying in Europe once I'm there. Europe is going to become a very dangerous place.

Thanks Blowie. I had a great time and I'm looking forward to returning in a few weeks. I'm hoping to stay this time, and maybe someday I'll swing by Norway for a beer or 12.

I really hope you'll be able to stay. Unfortunately, it won't be the same in my case .... After the holidays I'll come back to Rome, and heaven knows when Micky and I will be able to meet again. And I'd better stop here, because I could start spouting very negative things about the paranoia of certain countries ...

I know exactly what you mean Raf. When I came back yesterday into the US, they gave me a hassle, and I'm a U.S. citizen. They wanted to know every detail of my life for the past week, since I had left the country. I was surprised they didn't ask for a DNA sample, so that they could confirm I am who I said I was.
And, that is part of the reason it is easier for me to move to her, than it would be for her to move to me. She has a business visa for travel here for her job, but I'm sure if she tried to move here, it would be an enormous hassle and an iffy proposition at best. The only hassle for me moving there, fortunately, is finding a job. I hope you and Micky will be able to work through the b.s. involved in immigration.
I have pretty much decided I'm going there and will make it work somehow. Life is too short not to take chances, especially when it involves being with the person you love. I really hope you and Micky can make it all work out.

It's a question about time before you have to answer 50 questions about yourself and what your travelling purpose are just to travel to your neighbour country. It's incredibly frustrating. I don't travel that way much, but I think asking about every single detail you have done during your vacation is pushing it way too far. Passport and ticket/boarding card is enough if you ask me.

That, Doc, is wisdom. I'm glad you learned that before it was too late, not like I did.

Oh you wouldn't get rid of me that easily Micky. Even if I move to Europe, I'd still be around.
However, while I was there, my girlfriend was very keen on the idea of me moving to Europe next month. Now she is having second thoughts. She is afraid of me moving there without having a job. I keep telling her, it will be easier to find a job there if I am actually there, but she doesn't seem to agree. So my plans for moving to Europe and our future together is now rather uncertain.
