I've really been giving Galleon's latest album, Engines of Creation some heavy play this week and it's really growing on me fast and likely to make my top ten at the end of the year. Thumbs%20Up

They're from Sweeden and in the Neo Prog vein with some heavier elements to their sound and are great musicians too.  Only one review (thanks Erik) up till now so I'll do one after a couple more plays. Anyone else like it?

Now I'll have to start buying up all the back catalogue.

And what's your album of the week?......Old or new.

Textures of Tomorrow by The Hal al Shedad. Not a Prog album, but a very good album.

My album of this week,

Mr.%20Bungle

Mr Bungle - Mr Bungle (1991)

Funk-Metal, Jazz, Circus Music and Avant-Garde in a vulgar yet incredibly humoristic way. A personal favorite of mine ever since I got it nearly two years ago. Although I prefer Disco Volante over it, it's by far the most playful and fun Bungle album, in my opinion. I've got a real kick on it recently so it's the album of this week for me nowThumbs%20Up

album of the week.... hmmmm... let me think on that....

oh yeah...  this one I have been listening and playing along with,  nonstop with for the better part of the last two weeks now.  Loved this group from the start.. and sort of drifted away when I got heavy into the Italian stuff... just for sh*ts and grins I took it to work one day and had one of those out of body experiences.. without any supplemental stimulation LOL.. just the music itself was enough.

some fellow named Hendrix.  Never heard of him until the other day.  Pretty Good.

okay seriously, I've been renewing my appreciation for the master himself this week, and I believe this to be in the very top level of double-albums, not a single duff moment on the entire trip.

I'd almost forgotten I own that album. Must admit I wasn't mad on it at the time it got released. I guess I was expecting something not so far removed from Faith No More. I'm curious to give it another listen.

Hi! Smile

I've only got the album Out Of The Waste Land. It is very good, and their lastest release Pomp seems to sound great as well.
I am disappointed that a band like this has no label. Cry

The albums are available on their site.

I have two
Captain Werewolf - Dead

sounds a lot like early flaming lips noise mixed with the velvet underground

Holy F**k - Holy F**k

Really awesome debut by a really awesome band. Sounds like a modern electronic version of Neu!

Very appropriate Erik and i wasn't even aware of that DVD's existance. My own favourite Jon Lord moment is his playing on Made in Japan, particularly his solo on Highway Star and not forgetting Space Truckin' Smile
