It's 1975: Make A Prog Band

This may or may not be the correct section for this. Oh well.

Let's fly back to 1975. You are entrusted with the role of creating a new progressive rock group. Given the shakiness that began to characterize many of the decade's great bands, members are all available for your band. Who would you draft to make up your band? You can travel all over the world to recruit your band members, and there are no limits on the band's size. You may branch out to non-prog bands in order to nab an artist or two (but not all!)

Requirements: Members need to have been part of a prog band by 1975 (i.e., no Fish or Trey Gunn, for instance).

My band?

Drums- Tony Williams
Violin- Jean-Luc Ponty
Bass- Geezer Butler
Guitar- John McLaughlin
Keyboards 1- Anibal Kerpel (from Argentina's Crucis)
Keyboards 2- Dave Stewart

Essentially fusion-oriented

Hmm... in order to work well with that rhythm section (and with Emerson's keyboards), I think you'd need to pick between Fripp and Howe. It's hard to picture them doing interlocking material in the mid-70s  without sounding like a train wreck (and not in a THRAK way, either). I think Howe would work best, although the band's name would make Fripp a shoe-in.

But who am I to criticize... its your awesome mid-70s band
