I'm eager to play a PC game which - FOR ONCE - doesn't demand me to spend 12635 USD to make my computer as powerful as possible... till the next week....Tongue

Well, it's actually not *that* expensive. My computer is 2 1/2 years old and just a few weeks ago I downloaded the Valve Orange Box and played Half Life 2: Episode 2, Portal and Team Fortress 2 without any problems. And the computer wasn't top of the line back when I bought it ...

But it's true that every 3 years you need to upgrade, and a computer upgrade is more expensive than buying a new console. But if you take into account that you usually upgrade your computer anyway every 2-3 years, the actual difference is the graphics card, and even the top of the line cards are well in the range of the current consoles.

Every 3 years? It's been a slow gradual series of upgrades for my PC. I built it in October last year and since then have replaced the motherboard twice, upgraded the graphics card (Nvidia 7600GT to Nvidia 8800GTS), added a hard drive, replaced the power supply and added an extra 2Gb of RAM. Embarrassed

Yet after all that I can only just play Crysis on very high settings, hopefully once the game has been optimised some more the performance will be a bit better.

I assume you're talking about the demo? I installed it yesterday and unfortunately it's not playable on my system. I only have 1 GB of memory, that's the biggest problem since the system frequently stalls while textures and sounds are loaded.

Well, I'll definitely upgrade soon. But Crysis is an extreme example ... and had I bought a high end graphics card 2 1/2 years ago and installed a memory upgrade for around 50 EUR, I could still play it at medium settings.

Yeah I was talking about the demo not the full game since I got it today and EA have managed to make it unreadable by my DVD drive (only EA DVDs have this problem), gotta return it. Cry

And yet again EA have proved why they're a bunch of mindless jerks who will be first against the wall come the revolution. Angry

Now playing this amazingly fun RPG. Some of the best music here, and the battle system is fantastic!

I also recently got Wild Arms 3, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Not really sure what to expect from either.

Grand Theft Auto San Andreas is a fantastic game... After the Zeldas and the MArios and the Metroids, that was my favorite game ever. Give it a few hours, and it will swallow you whole...Tongue

GTA:SA is my favorite game EVER.

If you have played GTA III and Vice City you should know what to expect, but instead of one city to play in you get a whole state. If you have never played GTA...boy are you in for a surprise.

I've never played GTA before, but I am guessing I will enjoy this one, seeing how much praise this series as a whole and this game in particular get.

Psychonauts because it's free on Gametap right now.

I'm waiting eagerly for Mass Effect, though.

The most violent sports game in history is back: SpeedBall 2 - Tournament was released via Steam yesterday. Big%20smile

I've been playing it for a lot of today and whilst I've had a few bugs, I've not had any major problems

Of course the most important thing is the gameplay, and that is excellent, the action is fast and suitably violent, the AI is good but I bet online will be where this game really shines. The graphics are fantastic and the 4 arenas all very well designed, the players also look great, the customisation screen for your league team's appearance is very nicely laid out.

Surprisingly the keyboard controls are excellent can't comment on the gamepad controls though as I don't have one.

Overall I'd give it a 7/10 going up to 9/10 when the bugs are fixed.

Just beat Halo 3 a few days ago (I got a 360 about 2 weeks ago...)

Now I can't decide what to move on to...  Assassin's Creed looks most appealing to me, but a lot of people seem to be crazy over Mass Effect.  I've also read lots of good reviews of Bioshock.

WHAT TO DO??? Tongue

If you like RPGs, but have never played this, you're missing out.  I'd propose that it's better than the other big 16-bit RPGs.
