Well, my top instrumental of all time is Pacabel's "Canon in D," but, in the meantime, I'll have to give this some thought...

After the Ordeal is a beauty isn't it. I would probably rank it at 11.
Stackridge produced a couple of classy instrumentals -
1. God Speed the Plough (from 'The Man in the Bowler Hat' )
2. Purple Spaceships Over Yatton (not released on an original album but, incredibly, was the B side of a single. It is on their current "best of" CD)

1.Reality Dream III (and all the Reality Dreams) by Riverside 2.Wedding Nails by Porcupine Tree 3.For Absent Friends by Opeth (it's a filler, but a beautiful one) 4.Stream of Conciousness by Dream Theater 5.Akeldama by The Faceless 6.All of the instrumental songs off of S.U.S.A.R. by Indukti 7.Valentine by Novembre 8.The Still Life (Talking) album by the Pat Metheny Group is probably my favorite album by them (basically all of their stuff is instrumental, so it was hard to narrow down) 9.Last Day of Winter by Pelican 10.Hallways of Always by Ulver
