Guys, check out Ganaon, pretty heavy and intense stuff.
A bit past Isis in both the speed catagory and brutal catagory, but arent as drenched with emotion. Still, Very good!

If you enjoy post metal, you'll enjoy *shels.
Think the Pax Cecillia meets GY!BE, SubMasq and BtBaM

I'm disappointed - neither of these players are avant-garde! Al di Meola.
haha i know. but the poll itself is avant-garde
|

Jody, go check out the poll where they're saying that, and educate them what post is.
Cham, you were right! rockets falling on rockets is easily the best song on yangui! It literally reminds me of a classical composition, but electrified!

^^^ They released a single and are going to release a 2CD compilation as well November 6. The compilation consist of 1 CD of unreleased material and another will be an acoustic show that they made for their close friends and relatives. The DVD will be out in Nov 20 too.
A great song indeed, but I got confused and mentioned it as my favorite when in reality my favorite is Motherf*cker = Redeemer pt.1 . ![]() |

I listened to in the absence of truth for the first time today on my friends iPod.
Well, quite frankly, I was a bit disapointed.
The first and third song have Tool written all over it, and if I want to listen to Tool, I can just pop in lateralus any time. I HATED the drumming! The simple druming style of oceanic and panopticon is what makes the music so special and atmospherical, now we have mr. Danny Carey wannabe introducing the album with an obnoxious Tom Tom/Double bass jam session.
Well, I liked how the the vocals have detensified, and intensified, and the guitar melodies are still sweet, but this just isnt the Isis I'm used to. Maybe with some time the album will grow on me.

^ I will give them a listen.
Cult of Luna's most recent album is intense! Are they're other albums better, cause this album isn't ranked as high.

As I promised I would I've now watched Heima and listened to all of Hvarf-Heim, and both are incredible, Heima left me speechless which is a first for a music DVD. Hvarf-Heim is a wonderful collection of songs, the live half in particular is a wonderful listen. |
