no ...in all seriousness.... he is a member here.... don't believe he has been here in a long time. He'll come back when he needs to promote an album or something I'm sure. Everyone went goo-goo ga-ga over him. Had to be a hell of an ego trip. |

I can raise my hand as well. Peter Gabriel era Genesis was the last of the major bands that I listened to. Rush and Yes were my major gateway into prog from one side, and Dream Theater brought me in through another door.

well even if there isnt a band that no one dislikes within a certain genre's fans, there are loads of people that you just have to respect. even if you dont like porcupine tree, no-man, I.E.M, bass communion, blackfield or continuum, or opeth for that matter, you just have to respect steve wilson.
you just have to, god commands you and all that.

damn proud to raise my hand.... not to bring excess negativity to the thread... but Genesis simply puts me to sleep. Not a group I particularly like as a whole, though they had moments.. like The Cinema Show that rank with the best anyone did. |

I really am not a fan of any era, sorry. I owe my love of prog to Opeth, I guess I fall in the "metal convert" catagory not the "I like to watch men dressed as flowers" catagory

Is that because you owe your love of prog to the Phil Collins era?

90% of the forum members owe most of their love of prog to PG Genesis.

I'll be gentle,
I'll be gentle,
I'll be gentle... Wait, you said "King Crimson", not "Comus". Nevermind then. |

Aside from the few songs streaming on the website I am not familiar with any of the Italian bands that you are so fond of. That doesn't mean I don't like them though, it just means I'm a Noob when it comes to RPI.
