As far as I can tell, after being here for nearly two years, no one ever says a bad word about ITCOTCK (except, of course, when it comes to "Moonchild" ) and Hackett-era Genesis is almost universally loved as well.

King Crimson would've been a band I think everybody could enjoy at one point of their career or another. My beliefs were shattered, though, when I found out a friend of mine actually don't like them. Even so, I think he quite liked ITCOTCK and Discipline.
I have yet to find a person who can say no to Yes, but when I do I'll flip out! What about Pink Floyd? |

saw the comments about Banco... and I've actually heard a few say that actually don't care for Francesco's voice
have also heard the same with Le Orme and Aldo's voice. If you don't
like the vocals.. and it really can infuence how much you like the
group, no matter what you think of music I guess
To be honest though... PFM is the only 'major' group here at PA's that I really can't recall a single person saying they 'don't like'. Other than some occasional punk who just wants to stand out or be contrary for the hell of it. Even then...I don't recall any of those with PFM. Granted not everyone has heard them... but most all experienced proggers have. |

Aside from the few songs streaming on the website I am not familiar with any of the Italian bands that you are so fond of. That doesn't mean I don't like them though, it just means I'm a Noob when it comes to RPI.

Is that because you owe your love of prog to the Phil Collins era?

I really am not a fan of any era, sorry. I owe my love of prog to Opeth, I guess I fall in the "metal convert" catagory not the "I like to watch men dressed as flowers" catagory

damn proud to raise my hand.... not to bring excess negativity to the thread... but Genesis simply puts me to sleep. Not a group I particularly like as a whole, though they had moments.. like The Cinema Show that rank with the best anyone did. |

well even if there isnt a band that no one dislikes within a certain genre's fans, there are loads of people that you just have to respect. even if you dont like porcupine tree, no-man, I.E.M, bass communion, blackfield or continuum, or opeth for that matter, you just have to respect steve wilson.
you just have to, god commands you and all that.
