Announcing the Prog-Metal split

Have you thought about including Symphonic Progressive Metal???

I believe he means as a separate section, like my suggestion for neo-traditional prog metal (which would include the aforementioned symphonic prog metal).

Unless Pagan's Mind has changed with their new album (which I haven't heard), they aren't and Symphony X is (really now, how can you steal so much of Mozart's Requiem and still not be symphonic? ).

Of course, there can still be questionable entries (how about Angra, who rarely use true symphonic bits but often use traditional Brazilian parts?), and I don't think we'd have enough bands to make a real section out of just symphonic acts. (And yes, I had Angra, Time Requiem, and SymX in mind when I suggested neo-traditional for a genre.)

Wow, I've been gone for a while, and look what happens!

Actually the new categories make more sense to me... I had always thought that Prog Metal was too all-encompassing of a genre to include such a variety of styles.
