Just checked out the new track "Inside This Wonderland". The intro reminds me of Wish You Were Here/Animals era Pink Floyd, especially the vocals, but after that it gets a bit rockier. Around the 3.5 minute mark I hear some Genesis influences and some very long keyboard notes that make me wish there was a mellotron in there. Those are back in production, so why not Jason?
Further down, it gets more atmospheric, and I sometimes get distracted from listening. Maybe the vocals could do with less repetition to keep my attention. Would be interested in knowing what the lyrics are about also.
Still - far from bad and I'll still be keeping an eye out to Mourning Knight.

How's that for "Heavily influenced by the atmospheres and musical soundscapes of the Progressive seventies" as Jason claims in his introduction.

Playing the fool, The Blind Man's window: great atmosphere - reminds me of the ballad-like works of some heavier bands.

The Juggler's Dilemma: nice rocker - I can see the balls fly around my head.

Amazing what you can do with two musicians, some real bass would've made this even better - though the synth bass suites just fine.

Mourning Knight will please those who look for 70's inspired prog.

Taken from the band's Myspace page:
"Mourning Knight is the original work of Jason Brower. Though currently involved with Ceiling Unlimited as the primary outlet for composing and performing, Mourning Knight is another vehicle for material not suited for that group. Heavily influenced by the atmospheres and musical soundscapes of the Progressive seventies, passion, drama and a sense of the cinematic are brought together with lyrics that convey the darker, melancholy side of life. It can be anything from a full band composition to a piece for keyboard and vocal, a classical chamber group composition or an instrumental. There are no boundaries."

The band members are:
- Jason Brower / Drums,Keyboards,Vocals and synth bass
- Norm Dodge / Electric and Acoustic Guitars
