Favorite Lifeson Solo

"Ghost of a Chance" is a very beautiful song, both musically and lyrically... I once had its chorus as a sig, because in a way it represented what had happened in my life in the past year or so.

Anyway, one of my favourite Lifeson solos is very rarely mentioned, and for most people it probably isn't anything special... It's the solo on "The Weapon", which is very spacey and atmospheric, like the rest of the song.

Is it him or Robert Fripp that does the solo on anaesthetize? if it's Lifeson, then... yeah... that one

Great thread about a truely great artist. Too many to make one choice. Alex has a unique sound and style, i've yet to make an accurate comparison to anyone else, but, i "hear" him in the same way i hear Hackett. I think he has a similar role in Rush as did Steve with Genesis, textural and atmospheric.

Most Rushfans just gravitate towards Lerxst's solos like those in "Analog Kid" and "Limelight," but Signals is my favorite Rush recording.

More solo's/songs that are overlooked from signals; Chemistry and Losing It (goosebump city... for me at least)

I would also say the solo from "The Weapon", that is a truly amazing piece of guitar work. "Signals" has to be my favourite Rush album, but I never play the last track...

"The Trees" because of the 5/4 metre.
