The girlfriend of my best friend likes a lot of proggy stuff like Genesis, Jethro Tull, Opeth, King Crimson, some Gentle Giant and I think some Emerson, Lake & Palmer...

By the way, could it be possible that the only reason why so many of us here on the archives are males because guys use the internet more often than girls? (I've heard there was some kind of study, but I can't really believe it)...

But have you seen them OUT of those shirts? Now that is the question this thread is all about...

Wow. I am turning into the Doc.

I've seen one girl in a Rush shirt.

I was in a different country, however, so Canadian girls have pretty bad taste (AFAIK).

I believe she got the high score for most replies in a newbie thread, probably because the word "girl" was in the topic title.

I also know 2 other girls who like prog, and my mom enjoys lots of Genesis and Rush instrumentals. And my sister likes Zed Leppelin and Tethro Jull.

Dude, is your sister hot?

And what's a Tethro Jull?

My sister is not hot.

And a Tethro Jull is a magic  show that often has soundtracks by tribute bands who brother's were in prog bands. For example, Lars Shulman (the youngest of the Shulman brothers) didn't like prog, so instead of joining the ranks of GG, he made his own band "ZAG ZAG ZAG" and he also made a tribute band to his band, called "SAG SAG SAG" and they did the soundtrack to the magic show.

my mom is a prog geek. My bro's girlfriend like jazz rock/fusion and all that stuff. The girl I'm dating loves Marillion and likes most good bands I introduce to her. I guess we're just bloody lucky ^_^

i dont break up/get dumped by girls dues to their music taste

i was just saying how its weird that no girl i know likes prog, what nis it about the music thats so 'anti-feminine' [it would seem]

Actually, I know a woman who I introduced a few weeks ago to my cd collection and she was very impressed.  She knew Porcupine Tree, Marillion, Fish's solo stuff, and even knew who Wishbone Ash was, among others.  She loves ATOTT.  And she's damn gorgeous too.  I'm in love.  Too bad she lives in Censoreding Poland.  Cry
I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

That...is the most heart-warming thing I've ever seen.

Ah, I see.  Yes, I wish I could.  Sadly, she can't just come to the U.S. and stay and I've recently been told by the local authorities not to leave town.  Confused

Seriously though, I am going to see her in November and probably in December too.

I've sung Supper's Ready with my friend's sister who is four years my elder. If I dated her, that would be in the REAL Shakespearian fashion. Hell, I might even name my son Hamnet.
