I must admit I am a step below a n00b when it comes to Zeuhl.  I was looking at the genre on PA to get a feel for what this was and quite frankly I have never heard of any of these bands except for Magma.  I am currently listening to the streaming samples to get a feel for the sound.  That second song listed Arrakis from Dos was a very good instrumental.  I think where I will get lost in this section however is the whole Magma thing with the made-up language.  That doesn't really have much appeal to me but I will give the samples a try.

I'm not a huge fan of Happy Family.  I'd recommend Eskaton over them by a lot.

Sorry, I meant 13 times.

Oh, and Logan thanks for the recommendation, I have actually already added that to my list (right after Magma, Can, Happy Family, and a few others)

For my tastes, I've found Zeuhl to be the most consistently good category at this site.  I have so many great Zeuhl albums.  If you haven't heard Eskaton yet, I suggest you pick up their albums next -- starting with 4 Visions.

And that Pascal Duffard album mentioned earlier in the thread immediately became a favourite.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of Kobaia, I much prefer MDK, Kohntarkosz, Wurdah Itah, K.A., Udu Wudu, Attahk, and 1001 Degrees.

Yeah, Kobaia is awesome (almost 5 stars) but I would suggest you try and get a copy of Eros. That is mind-blowing, if you ask me. Also, if I'm not mistaken, there are many, MANY better magma studio albums than Kobaia (just ask Jake). But yes, Kobaia is pretty awesomely sickly ill.

1. MDK (Magma)
2. Eros (Dun)
3. Kobaia (Magma)
4. Angherr Shisspa (Koenjihyakkei)
5. Esameron (Runaway Totem)

I've only heard 7 zeuhl albums in total, so this list is the product of a very limited view.

(And both MDK and Eros are mindblowing!!!)

You can't go wrong with any of France Gall in the 60s. This is as good a compilation as any

Chantal Goya was a real cutie yep! Love 'Laisse-Moi' from Masculin Feminin. Not quite in the France Gall league but still smokin'

yeah it probably shouldn't be listed, especially since it is a bootleg

Wow, I see you what you mean, I found they have quite a similar demeanor! I will check out some of the other youtube clips soon.
